Select mechanical engineers of SteelAsia’s Carcar Works in Cebu attended the 2nd General Membership Meeting and Technical Seminar of the Cebu South Chapter of the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers. Engr. Aurelio L. Bagot, Carcar Works’ Rolling Mill Manager, believes that professional organizations, such as the PSME, are important in instilling professionalism and solidarity among practitioners. In his Welcome Address at the GMM, Bagot also highlighted the importance of sharpening the saw, synergizing and partnering among like-minded institutions. He said PSME and SteelAsia are both focused on technical advancement, global competitiveness and skills improvement. In its commitment to serve its varied stakeholders, SteelAsia hires the best personnel with corresponding expertise. The PSME continuously organizes seminars that provide SteelAsia’s engineers (and engineers of other companies) with updated technical know-how and other industry trends.
