Heavy Equipment Technician/Operator

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensures proper loading and unloading of scrap metals. Positions equipment to the designated lot as per advised by the supervisor

  • Executes scrap segregation to ensure that only required materials will be loaded to the dump truck

  • Stocks segregated scrap metals according to its chemical component and mass. Removes mud from scrap during rainy seasons to prevent abnormalities during the operation. Informs Supervisor/Inspector of undesirable scrap

  • Ensures safety practices are observed while in operation by addressing unsafe conditions or actions and resolving them by the help of inspectors and/or Recycling Yard Manager

  • Prepares and utilize Heavy Equipment Checklist on a daily basis

  • Ensures that diesel engine and mechanical equipment are serviced regularly according to standard operating procedures (SOP’s) / as needed to minimize operational delay

  • Perform preventive maintenance activities according to SOP’s. This may require conferring to Maintenance Planning Engineers and resetting of monitoring setting of equipment

  • Identifies and requests for the required tools or replacement parts of heavy equipment

  • Inspects delivered spare/replacement parts for heavy equipment upon arrival. Assembles/Dismantles engine with setting according to SOP’s

  • Performs test run/break in of equipment in the operation

  • Performs troubleshooting and repair of heavy equipment. Conducts analysis of possible root cause of the abnormality observed in heavy equipment and performs corrective action

  • Perform tests before turning over the heavy equipment for operational use

  • Prepares and utilize Checklist for Daily Equipment Repair

  • Ensures proper loading and unloading of scrap metals

Qualification/s:

  • Candidate must at a graduate of any Technical Vocational course

  • Preferably Heavy Equipment NCII

  • Must be knowledgeable in heavy equipment driving skill, trouble shooting, maintenance & repair

  • Possess good moral character

  • Must be willing to work in Bunawan, Davao City
